NEW YORK – Here I come. 🙂 This may be my 8th(ish) trip to NY, but this time its different, not a shopping trip, not a sightseeing trip, but this time its for a Marathon Swim!. For me this is just as exciting, I get to mix two things I Love, Swimming and NY 🙂
I spent this weekend, swimming in Irish waters for the last time, Saturday Morning I just had to go back to Myrtleville and swim there in the conditions I prefer, Calm instead of rain (last Monday!).
After an Hour in Myrtleville, I picked up my sister on they way and headed for Sandycove to do one last lap for Liam and I, and to cheer on Rob on reaching a 1000 laps of Sandycove (impressive, and he joins a very unique group!).. Plenty of Craic and food at Sandycove reminds you just what a great group of swimming friends we have all become. Everyone was genuinely cheering Rob to the wall on his 1000th lap, everyone genuinely wishing Liam and I well as we head to off to swim MIMS. Where else would you be? 🙂
If you want to track all the MIMS swimmers, then go to this page next Saturday. If you would like to donate to my charity then I appreciate your donation. Thank You. (50% stays in NY charities, 50% to Down Syndrome Irl).
While away twitter and facebook posts may be limited! (depending on free wi-fi). On the day of the swim, Dad is my crew on the boat, who will be texting my sister Eleanor who will have access to my Twitter and Facebook accounts and will update as best they can!.. a very round about way to get updates I know, but I havn’t got Dad on twitter yet!!
So for now, its off to Bed, not sure if I can sleep, But “My bags are packed and I’m ready to go”………. See you soon Lisa and Liam 🙂
